Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gundogan scored the goals as hosts Germany qualified for the last 16 of Euro 2024 with a 2-0 win over Hungary in Munich on Wednesday.

Musiala gave Germany the lead in the 26th minute with a superb solo effort, before Gundogan doubled their advantage just after the hour mark.

Hungary, who had needed to win to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive, rarely threatened and Germany could have won by a more comfortable margin.

The result means Germany finish top of Group A with nine points, while Hungary finish bottom with one point.
